What the 4th floor isn't telling

Last week, I learned that a group of public computers on the 4th floor have an infestation of lice.........HOW DID I LEARN OF THIS YOU MIGHT ASK?????

One of the staff members on the 4th floor sent an e-mail to the woman who sits behind me, detailing the problem. My co-worker shared the information with me and I asked her why they hadn't shared that information with the whole building.

Their excuse: They didn't want the whole building in a STATE OF PANICK!!!!!

Today, I learned that one of their managers finally thought to share their problem with the woman who heads the whole library.

Now, the 4th is unavailable to the public.

ewww, how in the hell did the computers get lice, and it must be a large infestation to finally be noticed. Will they throw the computers away?

Now, the 4th is unavailable to the public. Is staff still going on the 4th floor?

Mice like pretty good right about now

Most likely, the lice came from one of our lovely patrons. The infestation covers about four internet computers and two online catalog computers. Yes, staff is still going to work on the floor.

They still haven't sent out an official e-mail, so I don't know the details of how they are handling things up there.

Well that's the most disgusting thing I ever read. Eeeewwww! Will there be a notice for the public so the people who used the computers can get checked out? I wonder how long the lice have been there. Eeewwww!

Greetings from NC!

Minerva Extertion--As far as I know, they have known about the lice since Monday of last week. Supposedly, all they have is yellow caution tape around the computer terminals.
Thanks for stopping by.

Oh that's gross. First mice, now there's lice.

I don't know how you do it girl! I'll never use a public computer terminal again, lol.

I saturate my hands in sanitizer after each exposure to the public computers. If possible, I try not to touch them at all.

Some of these patrons would make you fear the computers. There is a man who puts on those yellow rubber gloves used for household cleaning, before touching the computers.---There is a woman who wipes all surfaces down with rubbing alcohol, before she touches the computer. That's just two examples.
